Information and advice for high school students and prospective students

The advisory services offered by the Basel Student Advice Center are targeted at school leavers from the Canton of Basel-Stadt, prospective students interested in the University of Basel and students at the University of Basel.

The advice is confidential, unbiased and free of charge.

Advice in English or French is generally possible, but we are a mainly German-speaking office.

Study and career choices

The Basel Student Advice Center provides information, support and assistance for individual study and career choices and/or for topics such as choosing a master’s program, planning your studies, study issues such as studying and work techniques or decision conflicts, starting your career, and continuing education. The advice covers degree programs across Switzerland.

Psychological counseling

The Basel Student Advice Center is an independent port of call for students and doctoral students at the University of Basel who are experiencing personal or psychological problems. The advice is confidential and free of charge.
