To make an appointment with the Student Advice Center, please register by phone, on site or online using the contact form below. If you would like an appointment as soon as possible, it is best to give us a call.

Who can come to us and on which subjects?
The Student Advice Center offer general advice to high school graduates, people interested in studying at the University of Basel and students/ PhD students at the University of Basel. Here you will find our counseling services, which are confidential, independent and free of charge.

For questions regarding applications and admissions to the University of Basel, please contact the Student Administration Offices of the University of Basel.

Our counselings usually take place on site at Steinengraben 5. In exceptional cases, we also offer counselings via Zoom or telephones. In addition to German, some of our advisors also speak English, French and Italian.

Possible dates

Consultations take place during normal office hours (8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.). Please mark possible half-days.

e.g. Monday only from 3 p.m., planned absences, foreign language (consultations also possible in EN, FR, IT), online consultation desired (normally our consultations take place on site. Video call possible in exceptional cases)
z. e.g. general choice of studies, psychological advice, questions about study program XY, etc.
