Information, advice and support for students and prospective students.
The Basel Student Advice Center is open to high schhol students and high school graduates from Basel-Stadt, anyone interested in studying at the University of Basel, and all students and PhDs at the University of Basel.
The counseling services for high school students and graduates provides information and support for individual study and career choices, as well as information on Swiss study programs and career opportunities. We also offer support on topics such as planning your studies, choosing a Master’s degree, starting your career and career planning or difficuties during your studies, such as learning and working techniques or decision-making conflicts. For student and PhDs at the University of Basel, we also offer psychological counselingfor personal or psychological problems. Counseling is confidential, unbiased and free of charge.
In addition, the Basel Student Advice Center runs a freely accessible information center with a wide range of information about study choices, study programs and careers. Topincs such as career planning, job search and mental health are also covered. The information center is open to the public. There are also various informational events on offer.

Adjusted opening hours
From Monday, 29th of July to Wednesday, 31st of July 2024, we will be available by telephone from 2 pm to 4pm. The Infothek will remain closed during these days. Consultations will take place as agreed.
Closed on 1 and 2 August
The Student Advise Service will be closed on Thursday, 1st of August and Friday, 2nd of August 2024.
We will be there for you again as usual from Monday, 5th of August 2024: By telephone (+41 61 207 29 29) from 10am to 12am and 2pm to 5pm from Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 2pm to 5pm. The information desk is open from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 5:30pm.
